HP LaserJet P1007: Ubuntu 10.10: How to adjust printout darkness?

I use a HP LaserJet P1007 printer on UBUNTU 10.10 With WINDOWS the darkness of print is high. But with UBUNTU 10.10, the darkness is less. How to increase the darkness of the text print out?

Install the latest HPLIP from the HPLIP site. May help

you wil need to mark it as executable then run it in a terminal as a user (DON'T use sudo)

I found that there is under System/Administration an option for setting printer darkness. I used that and also HPLIP latest version.
