HP LaserJet Professional M1212nf Multifunction Printer support

I am planning to buy a HP LaserJet Professional M1212nf Multifunction Printer. I see there is some partial support in the latest hplip driver (3.10.5): colour scanning and fax are not supported yet.

Does HP plan to fully support this printer in hplip? I suppose so since it is a new model.

Is additional support for the M1212nf planned for the next hplip driver version?

When this may be released?

Support for this printer has been added to hplib 3.10.5 and Ubuntu 10.04 only has version 3.10.2.

Hi,

I now this printer is not supported in Ubuntu 10.04 (hplip 3.10.2) and that it is supported by hplip 3.10.5, but only partially (I mentioned these in the original question).

The two important questions are:

Will this printer be fully supported (including faxing and scanning) in hplip 3.10.5+1?

Will hplip 3.10.5+1 be included in Ubuntu 10.10?

It is in Debian Unstable now so it is most likely that it will be in 10.10. Or you may want to create to bug report to request for the support.

In ubuntu 10.10
Running after driver install
sudo hp-plugin
Printer works fine.
