Hibernate now broken after patches applied

Asked by Robert Stones

I have recently installed 12.04 on an HP Elitebook 8730w and after modifying the settings found under xfce4-power-manager 1.0.11 through the desktop panel icon hibernate on lid close was working. I installed a set of (around) 12 patches yesterday and at this point hibernate on lid close does not now work.

I've checked at the command line by running sudo pm-hibernate and even though that worked before applying the patches it now does not.

The patches I applied all appeared to be to do with python, though I would appraicaite guidance on how to determine what patches have been applied and when.

I'd also appreciate guidance on how to reverse out patches if at all possible

Most importantly if someone could tell me how to fix the hibernate problem i'd be most grateful

Rgds

Shutdown, a rest overnight and reboot in the morning seems to have fixed this. Hibernate on "screen down" works and so does sudo pm-hibernate. I did reboot after installing all patches so I'm somewhat perplexed by this

Can you help with this problem?
