Any plan to improve time to hibernate and wake up
As the market has more smartphone and tablet stuff which could sleep/hibernate and wake up nearly instataneously, it seems a pity computer can't do the same.
As a traveller, it also makes a lot less comfortable to use the netbook outside of my accomodation
On my Samsung N230 netbook with Ubuntu 11.04, I have the following time to
boot/hibernate/wake w nothing: 50s/20s/60s
(from power button to where the user has full control / system waiting for user input / no big tasks pending in background)
and it's time without any applications loaded, just after boot, else it could be a lot worse.
Ubuntu is in the news for boot time
http://
but AFAIC, I would prefer 10 sec hibernate and wake up and 50 sec boot than the other way.
Thanks.
