hard drive not detectec on boot up

I have to boot from CD as my hard drive can no longer be seen. How do I trace the problem.

What do you mean by "as my hard drive can no longer be seen"? Do you have a notebook or a desktop PC?

You should also confirm the computer BIOS is still able to see it, if not checking the internel connections and also whether or not the drive has died would be the next step.

I mad e change in the Bios which solved my problem.
