I am new to ubunu linux. The hard disks were there in the beginning on the desktop. Now, they are disappeared. how can i get them back on the desk top?????????????

on desktop,click 'places'->'my computer', you will see the drives,open it once,shortcut will be created on the desktop,else,right click on the drive,you will get option to fix a icon on the desktop.......................mahesh shaw
