Gwibber 3.0 installed but gives error
Hi,
I'm using Elementary OS Jupiter, which is based on maverick (I'm sure you guys knew that already, but anyway). I've been having trouble with running the latest version of Gwibber on my computer. I copied the gwibber directory in my "/usr/local/src/" directory, and then did an install after ensuring I had all the listed packages. The install went successfully (I didn't see any error message in the output that I got after installing it), however, whenever I try to run the client by typing "gwibber" at the command line, I get the following error:
kushal@
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/usr/bin/gwibber", line 55, in <module>
from gwibber import client
ImportError: cannot import name client
Error in sys.excepthook:
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/usr/lib/
os.
OSError: [Errno 2] No such file or directory: '/var/crash/
Original exception was:
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/usr/bin/gwibber", line 55, in <module>
from gwibber import client
ImportError: cannot import name client
Can anyone help me figure this out? I've tried installing a number of applications from source, but I've almost never been successful. Even after installing it all the way without any hiccups, they almost always fail to launch. Therefore, I'd really like to nail this one and understand what I've been doing wrong.
Thanks in advance for all your help.
Kushal
