Notifications No Longer Pop Up

I'm running Ubuntu 10.04. Notifications no longer pop up when someone post something on Facebook. I checked the preferences and "Display notifications" is checked. So I don't know what else I need to do to fix this. If I open Gwibber I see the post just fine in the main window. It's the notifications that pop up on the screen when the main Gwibber window is closed that I'm not seeing any more.

sudo apt-get --reinstall install notify-osd* libnotify1

Should make things ok.

you will only be notified when someone mentions your name in the message like @om26er if you are not mentioned then you wont get any notification. This was done on purpose believing tweets are not necessary for a user to be notified of rather the excess amount could create alot of annoyance
