Which iPod do you have? You can also use Rhythmbox to manage your music in your iPod providing it's not the iPod touch. iPod touch support is still in development. Plug in your iPod, click on Applications -> Sound & Video -> Rhythmbox Music Player. Your iPod should be listed in the left hand column and you can click and drag your music to sync it. Before you remove your iPod, make sure to click the 'Eject' button so the final changes can be written and your iPod won't be corrupt.

Are you more familiar with iTunes? Would you like a similar interface?

yes the iPod is 4th gen nano and I have Ubuntu 8.04.

Really not very familiar with the iTunes at all this is my first iPod so I've never used iTunes except to play music on my friends computer who has it. I have no clue how you sync your iPod to it or how you upload your music to it or anything.

In any case it looks simple enough!? I'll try to download the "songbird" and see what happens.

But first I need to ck my pc since last time I was trying to do this something happened and now it won't connect to the internet and the pc itself it's REALLY SLOW!!!.

Valkyrie,

Yeah, you can check out songbird or Rhythmbox that is already installed. There are also plenty of other media players that will handle iPods. You can check a nice comparison here:

Good luck!
