In that bug report, I am seeing the line "gtk4 could be made available in a PPA instead."

I am working on a proprietary software and I started using gtk+4.0 during Ubuntu 17.10. Again I don't want to go back to gtk+3.0

Could you please let me know if there is a way to use gtk+4.0 in Ubuntu 18.04 as well ?

I see several options and/or workarounds:

Since there is no official version in the Ubuntu repositories, you could try finding this software in a PPA. (In a quick check just done I did not find any PPA with a gtk+4.0 version for bionic in the moment, you probably would have to wait until somebody builds such package.)

You can try building such version in a PPA yourself.

You could try manually installing the gtk+4.0 packages for artful in bionic. (Caution: Installing packages for the wrong Ubuntu release works well for some packages but miserably fails with broken dependencies for other software - I haven't tried with gtk+4.0).

You can try compiling gtk+4.0 on your system.
