gThumb freezes on startup

Hello,

Gthumb freezes on startup but it still works from the terminal. This happens once before but I don't remember the solution that I fount on the Internet. The only thing I remember is that I had to type something in the terminal. My biggest problem is that when I am starting gThumb from the terminal it doesn't find my catalogs.
Can anyone help me?

try:

Close gthumb then run:

mv ~/.gconf/apps/gthumb ~/.gconf/apps/gthumb_old; mv ~/.gnome2/gthumb ~/.gnome2/gthumb_old

Then relaunch gthumb

In spite of some error-messages (the reason is perhaps that 'copy and past' did cut off a part of the command) your tip was succesfull. Thanks for that.
