After successful install - Error: no such device
I just completed an install of ubuntu 9.1, everything seemed successful. I was prompted to restart, then i get the screen
Grub Loading..
error: no such device: c2448200-
Then I was taken to a screen where it says:
GNU GRUB version 1.97~beta4
Ubuntu, Linux 2.6.31-14-generic
ubuntu, Linux 2.6.31-14-generic (recovery mode)
memory test ...
memorty test ...
Nothing happens when I click on the first two choices.. I am not quite sure what the memory test does.
I am still able to load the CD but it does not do me any good, anytime I am trying to load from my HD, it fails.
Little more background, I am running Dell XPS M140, it used to have Windows XP 2005 home edition. When I ran the installation process for Ubuntu, I chose the option to completely wipe out windows and install Ubuntu. So now, I do not have an operating system..
Any suggestions? Is there something wrong with my computer? It was running Windows fine and I did not receive any type of warning during the installation process.. everything went fine..
