Ubuntu 12.04 does not boot after windows 8 install

I recently installed windows 8 after Ubuntu 12.04 to dual boot. However, it boots directly into windows without asking.
Based on some search, I tried these commands;

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:yannubuntu/boot-repair && sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install -y boot-repair && boot-repair

but it did not work either. It gave this url:

Can anybody help?

I could not understand what you meant to say.
Can you please direct me to the codes, as I don't have much experience in Ubuntu?

I could not do it, as I don't have a live usb.

I reinstalled Ubuntu, and the problem gone.
