After update and restart Grub menu shows only memtest 86+ and windows 7 . Not showing ubuntu.windows7/ ubuntu 12.04 dual boot

i have ubuntu and win7 on dual boot.
today i was working in ubuntu and ran sudo apt-get install update.
after restarting the grub shows memtest , memtest (86+) and windows7 loader..but ubuntu is missing!!
i tried the boot repair disk(its a few months old) . but its not working..it keeps on parsing grub..
wat shall i do to recover ubuntu in the grub menu? urgent.. please.
