where did menu.lst go?

After some boot issues (that I probably caused myself by a hefty crash during an upgrade to maverick), I really wanted to edit my menu.list to not be quiet, nor be splash.
But I can't find menu.lst.
I now feel serioiusly silly, not to mention stupid, but, eh, where did it go?
