Windows installation removed Ubuntu

I use Gutsy. I tried to install windows but it removed my Ubuntu & windows installation is also unsuccesful. I am using live cd right now & i also found the Ubuntu is still there. I badly need ur help.

Installing Windows usually destroys GRUB (the bootloader). Also, if you selected to remove each of the Ubuntu partitions and Windows partitons then you will have nothing.

Your best bet in my opinion would be to fresh install Windows, leave some space free and then fresh install Ubuntu on top. This will restore GRUB nicely and you'll have a dual booting system set up again.

If you have your old /home on a seperate partition you should be able to save it during the Ubuntu installation.

Is there any way to recover Grub & bring my Ubuntu back. I cannot go 4 a reinstallation as i have data on my hard disk. I dont want Windows right now & better always
