version bump

Asked by Zurd

Hi, I've released GPRename 2.6, Ubuntu has version 2.5, what is the procedure to follow for a version bump? I'd like Ubuntu Intrepid to get 2.6.
Someone already put 2.6 in the Debian's repositeries, does Ubuntu will pick it up there automatically and we don't have anything to do?

If there are no Ubuntu changes for the package, it will be synced automatically until Debian Import Freeze (this was ca. two weeks ago): https://wiki.ubuntu.com/IntrepidReleaseSchedule . If you want to have the new version in intrepid you have to request a sync: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/SyncRequestProcess . If there are Ubuntu changes, than someone have to merge the Debian package. In your case there were no changes made by Ubuntu. I offer my help if you need some.

Can we request a sync even if the new GPRename is only in sid (unstable) ?

We always sync from Debian unstable.
