install windows xp

i installed ubuntu 8.04 in the entire disk oif my computer and now i want to install windows without uninstalling ubuntu. how can i do that? i want to have a dual boot.

You'll have to use a LiveCD (Ubuntu 8.04.1 Desktop edition, for example) and use Gparted. Then resize your main Ext3 partition, reduce its size how you want it. Then in the new free space, create a NTFS partition.
You should be able to install from there. I'm not sure if Windows can install using a partition only (and not the entire disk).

THEN you have to fix the boot.

Just wanted to provide some additional information. The first link lists many ways to resize you partition and it might be a little confusing. I encourage you to do what weboide has suggested, boot to the LIveCD and run gparted from System->Administration->Partion Editor. I find this to be the simplest of the methods.

After you install windows, you will have to perform steps 1-6 in the Quick Start Section on the second link.

If you get into trouble, ask for help.
