How to format a windows Drive

Asked by SWAGATAK GHOSH

Now I am using Ubuntu without any problem. earlier I used windows . So I have two windows drive. now I want to format those drives as EXT4(because it has no defragment). I want to move my all files to a drive then format the other drive . Is it possible ? If possible please tell me how can I do that(how to format as EXT4) ? If I format both the drives as EXT4, then have I mount the drives every time as before?
My another question is that Linux is virus free is it fir EXT4 file system ?

Thanks

Once you move the data you can use gparted to format the partition (you can't format drives, only partitions). You should be able to the access them from the places menu but if you want them to mount at boot then we can easily add them to /etc/fstab and it will mount at boot
