Can't sign code of conduct

So I try to sign the code of conduct. I go into terminal and enter gpg --clearsign UbuntuCodeofConduct-1.0.1.txt and it asks me for my passphrase but I can't say anything because it also says gpg agent is not available.

i signed ubuntu code of conduct..

i cripted it with: gpg -as UbuntuCodeofConduct-1.0.1.txt

i opened UbuntuCodeofConduct-1.0.1.txt.asc with gedit and copied all the text..
