Install ation of softwares in Ubuntu linux

Following different ways :

1.You can use "Ubuntu Software Center" right away from main menu.Search for the application and Click "Install". Thats it.You require an Internet connection for this.

2.You can use "Synaptic Package Manager" from Main Menu > System > Administration > Synaptic Package Manager. Here too you can search for softwares. Click "Mark for installation" and click "Apply". Here too you need an Internet connection.

3.Try http://www.getdeb.net/ which is quite self explanatory.

4.If you have a .deb installer file of the Application, just double click it and click "install".

5.You can compile softwares from soure tarballs. ( for users familiar with commandline, make etc)
