Hi,

You can refer to the question https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/sudo/+question/51229 , and especially to Wyatt Smith's answer:

To open a root terminal you can try ALT+F2 and then type

gksu /usr/bin/x-terminal-emulator

Or from a normal terminal you can switch to root with

sudo -i
