how to turn off screen lock

I want to know how to turn off screen lock because when I listen to music or watch a movie and step away for a second
it locks me out and I have to reenter my password to log on it is very annoying

Please do this:
1. Open a terminal by hitting CTRL + ALT + T
2. Run this command:
gnome-screensaver-preferences

3. In the new window uncheck the option for the screen lock and close.

Remember: you can also find the Screensaver option in the menu at top left you are using gnome-panel. If you are using Unity, the graphical of the new version called Ubuntu 11.04, for run it you have to press the windows key on the keyboard and search screensaver.
