"Laptop battery is charged" issue

Hello everyone and thanks for help!
I have Acer Aspire TimelineX 5820 TG and Ubuntu 10.04 on it. The problem is that the Power Management says "Laptop Battery is charged" whether is charged or not. I have been reading some articles before I decided to write it here and it turns out that this is unsolved bug so called - Bug #577557 - Does Ubuntu managed to solve it or are there any solutions?
