Problem with fast-user-switcher after karmic upgrade

Asked by Steve Garton

I have 2 laptops that I have done fresh karmic installs on, both worked fine. I particularly like the user switcher applet that integrates messenger status, user and shut down options. I have today upgraded my work laptop (from jaunty) to karmic, and on first boot the fast-user-switcher applet crashed, and ubuntu advised me to delete it's config, so I did. Now, when I add the applet again, it is not the same as my other karmic machines, no status, no shut down option, no list of users to switch to. How can I get it to be the same as in a fresh karmic installation?

Thanks,

Steve
