Organize icons in the upper panel

Asked by M.

Is there any way or thing to organize the icons in the upper panel (Applications / Places / System)?

My panel gets messed up oftenly. Sometimes It just logs in and everything is messed up, sometimes when I drag the panel to other places and sometimes after quitting a fullscreen application.

If there is no way, it would be a nice feature to have a 'clean up' / organize icons in the panel.

Simply right-clicking on the panel and playing around will lead you to a level of customization you're likelt unaccustomed to. You must be using Gnome as your WM (window manager) as you said "Applications/Places/System".
As far as cleaning up the crap, like unused apps in Windoze, no need to worry, as for the most part everything that is there either serves a purpose or YOU put it there. Welcome to a clean system where you are the boss. Do whatever you like.
