Networking with Friends WinXP

I have Ubuntu 8.04, and my ex wife needs my help with WinXP, but she is old and doesn't know much about her computer. I want to access her computer to help with some rather simple issues, but I haven't found a solution as yet.

I would suggest VNC or term services.

Well is it remote meaning off your network at a completely different location or local? Ex wife at another house you can netcat into it..

Hi whitey,
my ex wife had the same problem, she needed to get into our old computer to access all my old earnings records to give to her solicitor, l told her to boot up into safe mode with the original windows cd, go to a command prompt and type format c:, this didnt fix her problem but it sure as hell helped mine.
