Asked by mr lee

this is kind of a follow-up to my earlier query, (#238616)... I believe whole or part of my "cant connect to the internet" problem is that I have a duplicate IP address........... please advise on how to correct this. Thanks guys...

If you run:

ifconfig

Do you see a duplicated IP on the machine or is there a duplicated IP on your LAN?

Looks like the wifi has an IP address. Did you specify that or did it get configured by DHCP?

I suggest you reboot the server / device giving out IP addresses (probably some home grade router). Then reboot your PCs.

Check if you have any static IP addresses set in your subnet and make sure they are at the TOP of the pool (start at 192.168.1.254 and work down if you want to use static IPs).
