wireless network setting in ubuntu 11.4 and removing BSNL PPPoE auto connection

After auto PPPoE connection through BSNL Network, It takes long time to start up and fails to detect other Wired connection. Please tell me about the manual setting when I require.

Further Wire connected but cannot access to internet.
Tell me about the Wireless setting because I have inbuilt Wifi in my Dell Vostro laptop
