i cant reset my computer to defaul settings

i clicked a button and on the top of my computer screen the like that has all the internet things disappeared and now i cant reset nothing or go on the internet.

What version of Ubuntu are you using?

if you are on ubuntu 11.10, you can try accessing the network settings from the system settings.
System settings - Network.

if you network icon is missing from the notification area you can try this. Open terminal by pressing CTRL+ALT+T and run
nm-applet
