Installing wvdial, usb_modeswitch

Asked by Iqbal

Hi,

When I want to install wvdial and usb_modeswitch using Synaptic Package Manager (SPM), the SPM says that wvdial is not authenticated. SPM shows the warning that "You are about to install software that can't be authenticated! Doing this could allow a malicious individual to damage or take control of your system."

The same warning is shown for usb_modeswitch also.

On the other hand I saw some support information (not negative information) about wvdial on debian.org also.

1- Should I install both these packages?
2- If not, how to use Micromax usb modem no. 352G.

Here the question is - should I ignore the warning of SPM? Yes or No. If No then why?

Please tell how to close this question?

Can you help with this problem?
