ubuntu 10.10 will not allow me to surf the internet

I have three pc's at my desk, but I have connected two of them to one monitor with a KVM switch. The two on the same monitor are both running Ubuntu 10. One pc has 10.04, which will allow me to get online. Other has 10.10, which (after updating) decided to no longer allow me online.

What could be the problem with pc running 10.10, causing it not to let me surf the internet?

On the machine that is not functioning, can you provide the following output from the command line?

ifconfig -a
lspci
lsusb

i replaced the ethernet, things are working now!! thanks anyhow
