sound very harsh after upgrade to ubuntu feisty

i upgraded my ubuntu to feisty.After a lot of juggling around and tweaking i finally got my sound rite but it becomes harsh whenever i try to increase the volume.Is there any problem with the codecs or alsa??Please help!!!!

Sounds like your speakers can't handle the volume.

As long as you keep PCM volume under 74% (dB gain 0.00) it should work. If you still need more volume, increase Master volume (it can be increased to 100%).
