Microphone is not working

Hi,
the mic. is not working. One is enbeddet in the notebook and the other is the ussual mic.outpu. None works!!!
I tried to switch between diffrend software without resultsome diffrend se

Maybe it is muted or on zero?

Do you have Kubuntu (KDE)? If so, click on the microphone icon then on Mixer to start KMix, then go to the Input tab. Check that for "Mic" the red and the green light both are on and it is not on 0 (at the bottom). Also check that the red light for Capture is on (there is no green light) and that it is not at 0 (at the bottom).

For Ubuntu (GNOME) there is probably a similar way. If not, try typing alsamixer in the terminal, use the arrow keys and I think 'm' for muting and unmuting.

that doesn't do it for me. I have the problem still and I have ubuntu (gnome)... please help!
