NAS Network Browser

Hello I just move from Windows 7 to try Ubuntu 12.04. I usually were using a NAS where I Downloaded Movies and then Trans code them from directly on the NAS and then I do streaming for playback. Now I can do the streaming on Ubuntu but I cant trans code unless I copy the file to my local drive and then do the transcode also after that copy the tans coded file back to the NAS then I can play the file from the NAS.

Is there an easier way Like I did on WIndows? I could use a trans code program select the file on the network and then deposit the trans coded file again to the Network location.

If you mount the share , you can use it as a local folder and the procedure will work ok.
