movie player and banshee player do not show video,only audio after installing codec

to both the players the necessary codec s are installed,but no video is shown .banshee player crashes--but movie player plays the file without video--only audio

Might be codec conflicts.

By the way, can you provide a little detail on what type of movie format you are trying to play?

Do you remember what codec you are installing before the error happened?

Have you tried installing vlc mplayer-gnome and w32codecs (I assume 32bit Gnome desktop).

Can you help with this problem?
