How can I record streaming media easily?

Asked by Matthew Heyse-Moore

Hi,
I'm trying to record streamed audio on Ubuntu 11.04. I tried to install KRadio Ripper, but it doesn't seem to work. I see from the user reviews that others have had this problem.
I have worked out how to use Sound Recorder to record individual extracts, however I am wondering if there is any easy way of doing it using software that will automatically save what's playing as individual files, and find track information.
I am a beginner on computers so please explain any answer really simply, preferably without instructing me to use the terminal. with thanks, Matthew.
