Keyring asks for password

Please tell, you mean: how to boot automatically without entering user and password...?

To your question, no.
Every time I start the computer I get a a small window pop and it says to
put in the password to unlock the Keyring. This takes place before the
wireless Internet connection is established. In other words the network
subroutine needs to access the Keyring. I am sorta guessing because I am not
a Network annalist, just a user who is sick of Microsoft.

Which version of Ubuntu are you using? This was a bug (or feature) of earlier versions but seems "fixed" in 7.10. It was basically a security feature but once you log in it's kind of redundant so they seem to have made it unlock when you log in (although I'm not exactly sure what, why or how). There were also some fixes floating around, but the best fix is probably to upgrade to 7.10. If you are using 7.10 then that's puzzling.

I am using ver 7.10 with all updates. upon further study I find that this
password request is taking place when the wireless interner router is asking
for it's password.

I get asked for the wifi access point password too from time to time. Usually it doesn't ask and just connects but sometimes it asks. I have no idea how to fix that. Personally, I think it's a glitch or bug but maybe I'm missing something. One thing that kind of helps is to open the gconf editor (I can't recall the exact name to open it but it can also be added to the system menu by editing the app menu). I'll have to research the exact key but if you find the one for wifi you can delete all the keys and then when it asks again the next time it should set it back to a working state. Clearing out any old ones might help it act nicer with your regular ones. I'll look into this next time on one my Ubuntu box (I'm on win at work right now).

I got the same problem soon after i changed my password.
I think keyring and user password are synchronised, but when one change is own password, keyring password do not change. i.e. for keyring the passw. is still the old one.

By the way to solve this problem, just change the password for the keyring. Using Seahorse, that is a front end for GnuPG, it's easy.

I can confirm this "bug" again on Ubuntu 8.10. The system asks me for keyring password everytime I start my computer. I have tried changing user password, keyring password, even setting both to same, but the system still is asking for password at every restart. This is annoying.

In seahorse it says that the login keyring is automatically unlocked on login, which isn't the case.

You can disable passwords in the default keyring. Call Seahorse (either by typing "seahorse" on the command line or from Applications -> Accessories -> Passwords and Encryption Keys). Select the Passwords tab. You should see a folder icon. Right-click on it and change the password to an empty one.
