Without the device not attached, run:

lsusb; lsb_release -a; uname -a

What is the output, then plug in a device, wait 10 seconds and run:

sudo fdisk -l; lsusb

What is the output?

Thanks

Zorin is not supported by the Ubuntu community. It's support is entirely separate to the Ubuntu support channels.
Here is the forum for Zorin:
http://www.zoringroup.com/forum/

Please note that Natty went EOL a long time ago and there are no more packages for it. Canonical have abandoned it due to the nature of the support Ubuntu gives.

I recommend you wipe the Zorin OS you have installed presently, then do a clean install of Trusty (Ubuntu 14.04). This is the latest LTS from Ubuntu and is suported til April 2019. It is also supported in all the Ubuntu community channels.
