Lost Background Wallpaper
I have a simple 8.10 installation mostly using defaults that includes simple-ubuntu.jpg in System > Appearance > Background.
This wallpaper appears during startup and did appear as my Desktop Background until early this week. Then the Desktop started to only have the solid color background. Switching Backgrounds, changing Appearance settings, etc., have not changed this behavior. What happens is simple-ubuntu.jpg is there during startup, but disappears at the point the Desktop menubar starts to appear. Then the desktop's background changes to a solid color.
Nothing obvious (to me) in the logs.
Certainly not an earth-shaking problem. It's a concern that something more serious is corrupted plus an interest in a better understanding of how Ubuntu works.
