keybindings will be deleted automaticly

Asked by BlauesEi

ubuntu 12.04
Gnome3 Desktop

After successive upgrading to ubuntu 12.04 I have now the phenomenon that some keybindings will be deleted automaticly.

Its about the self defined Windows Hotkeys (for example: closing Window alt+F4) or F2 for search dialog or the Panels.

After I have defined them they will work properly.
When I reboot or restart Lightdm, after about 1-2 minutes the files in .gconf will be changed automaticly and the keybindings will be deleted

Could you please tell me, what I have to do so all keybindings will be keep alive?
Thank you very much.

Hi ,
first of all it is a good idea to read the Ubuntu Dekstop Guide. Place the mouse on top panel and click "Help" . I think some things changed from 11.10 to 12.04.

Second maybe you must install CCSM . Open a terminal (ctrl+alt+t) and run

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
sudo apt-get install compizconfig-settings-manager
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
and try to setup keybindings from there.
Thanks

That's the base but what's the UI,
Gnome-Shell,
https://live.gnome.org/GnomeShell/CheatSheet
Unity,
https://help.ubuntu.com/12.04/ubuntu-help/
something else?
http://www.xfce.org/

Did you look at system settings - keyboard - shortcuts?

Not reproducable with Unity, works fine here.

> F2 for search dialog

Try alt-key or win-key, first one opens HUD, second the Dash.

Hi,
the problem is not hwo I can define keybindings.
I do it all the time.

so compiz was not the solution.

The point is, that the keybinding definitions in the folder .gconf
will be reseted automaticly shortly after the gnome desktop has been started.
the command
find . -mmin -1
will show then a huge list of files that has been changed.

And after I started the desktop anew the Keybindings will not work anymore.

The question is, what do I have to do so the user definied keybindings will not longer be reseted.
