Gimp is not showing up on my computer.

Asked by Kelly McNeirney

I cannot find Gimp anywhere on my computer. I've read that it's supposed to be under applications, then graphics, but it's not there. And the Gimp website says won't let me install it because it says that it's already on my computer. But it's not.

Which Ubuntu version? Which desktop-session, Unity, Gnome-classic?
Gimp isn't standard anymore since 10.04 Lucid.
Try
alt+f2
type:
gimp
press [Enter]

Find out if it's installed.
Open a terminal: ctrl+alt+t
type:
dpkg -l gimp

If it says app not found:
sudo apt-get install gimp
