Backporting python3-gdcm to ubuntu 18.04

Hello, do you have plans to backport python3-gdcm package to ubuntu18.04?

If so, how can I help you with it?

If not, why and can I do it by myself if there is no technical barriers?

I have not seen a request for such backport so far, and I assume that there is no plan to do that if nobody asks for it.

Additional remark:

It is not possible to backport only the python3-gdcm package to ubuntu 18.04?

You either have to backport all packages from the gcdm source together,
or maybe it is possible to build just a python3-gdcm package based on the source that is available in Ubuntu 18.04.

Talking about "no rolling release" thing, if we want to bring python3-gdcm to 18.04, we need to
pass through exactly backporting process (as soon as there is nothing to update there).
And backporting process is connected with backport requests, approval,

so backporting is a whole process, not just build and push as I thought.

Talking about your additional remark, I thought about the second approach where we only need
to build the python3-gdcm package in 18.04 environment.
