yahoo login

Hello,

   I am not able to login in to yahoo.. i am using kubuntu and gaim for logging into yahoo. it says "connecting..." but it has been than an hour and i hardly can see anything... could you please advice me what to do...

If you are on a administered network, try changing the port to 80 and seeing if that helps anything.

Accounts --> Modify Account --> Advanced : Change Port:5050 to 80

If not, make sure you have the latest version. Gaim is now known as Pidgin.

Pidgin is not supplied in Ubuntu, but the latest GAIM should have no problem logging into Yahoo.

I would agree that it may be that you are being blocked somewhere, are you behind a proxy server? If so you may need to configure GAIM to know your proxy server address.
