Why is location shon as 0.000 - 0.000 when there is a good GPS signal

I can't quite explain what's going on, perhaps someone can help...

I get:-
-GPS Data----------------------------------------
  Altitude 0.0 ft
  Heading 0.0°
  Lat - Lon 0.000000 - 0.000000
  GPS Time Tue 2021-06022 01:15:20 <- this is the correct time
  Satellites 9 HDOP 1.6

gpsmon connects and shows a VERY precise location fix, but I'm not seeing any location in FoxtrotGPS.... what am I doing wrong... clearly it sees gpsd, and can read some data, but not all.

One of the most common problems that occur with any GPS is correct tracking. ... here are some suggestions that will allow you to get the most precise location ... This is why it is best to be outdoors.

Hanif, thanks for trying to help, but this is not a GPS problem, since if I read the location from gpsmon (part of the gpsd tools), I get an absolutely precise location fix that is within 3-5 meters of my actual location.... I can see as many as 10 satellites and have a HDOP as low as 0.8... the issue is that FoxtrotGPS is not reading the location from gpsd correctly (but is reading the status and time... so it is able to communicate)...

My guess is that it's some incompatibility between FoxtrotGPS and GPSd

It seems that the reason for this is that the current version of FoxtrotGPS shipped with Ubuntu is not working with the version of GPSd shipped with Ubuntu. I spoke with the developer or FoxtrotGPS, and apparently there is a fix in the BZR code, and after this report it looks like he will release a new version of FoxtrotGPS to resolve this issue, so perhaps we will see an update in Ubuntu soon. In the mean time, build from the BZR source... linked on the foxtrotgps home page.
