What version of Ubuntu are you running? What version of FIrefox are you trying to install? Where did you download it? What is the filename? How are you trying to install it?

I have version 5.10 installed, I am trying to install the latest
version of Firefox, 1.5, I believe, since some of the extentions
require it. I downloaded it from the firefox site,I dont know what the
filename was. Once I downloaded it, there was an "extract" button,
which I hit, but nothing seemed to happen.

Thanks for your help, Robert Schwab, befuddled

I'm sick of Windows. I have a P3 running at one Gig, 512 meg of Ram, 40 gig hard drive and Soundblaster Platinum 'Live' with the breakout box.
I am using Cubasis VST, Wavelab Lite and EZ Waves plug-ins for Compression and EQ. I use the Jammer Pro (Soundtrek) to create drum tracks and Nero 5 burning Rom with a Pioneer DVD CD-R reader/writer.
Will I be able to run this system with Lynux, and gladly part company with Windows for ever?
Best wishes,
Daniel Franks
