gmail hostile on ubuntu start page

gmail changed to new style then put me on google chrome {was on ubuntu start page] they say I have no account with google so I cant get info to change pass word etc. faq done all asked, when trying to report bug lang. would be changed John Burk

So, are you able to go to gmail.com and type in your username and password? If not, what exactly happens?
