How did you try to install it?

The recommended way to install Moonlight on Ubuntu is to install the package called moonlight-plugin-mozilla if you are using Firefox, or moonlight-plugin-chromium if you are using Chromium. (If you are using some other browser, please let us know.) You can install these packages in the Software Center.

By the way, you have marked your question as Solved, so if the problem is not solved, you should come to https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/firefox/+question/170532 and post, clicking the "I Still Need An Answer" button. Otherwise, everyone will probably assume that your problem is resolved and that you no longer need assistance.

Sorry for all of the trouble, but I just saw that Moonlight is not compatible with Firefox7, so the trouble is with Firefox and not Ubuntu, except for the fact FF7 came with the upgrade,Once again thanks for all of your suggestionsGypD

The easiest way for you to use Moonlight on a system with Firefox 7 may be to install another browser (you can keep Firefox). Chromium is ideal for this; you can get it by installing the package called chromium-browser.

I finally resorted to upgrading a copy of 10.4 LTS that I also had installed on my computer, which I upgraded to 11.04 (the same version I had before upgrading to Oneric Ocelot Beta version), so now I have FF 6.0,2 installed and Moonlight works fine now---Thanks for all of your help to all of you who gave me your suggestions.
