Unable to minimize web page etc

Why is it when i'm in my home page or any web page and move my mouse from the top of the web page to the bottom of the web page, a full screen appears and no menu. When i put my mouse back of to the top of the screen i can see the menu.. when i hit f11 it shows the menu and if i hit it again it disappears. The other problem i'm having is that i'm unable to minimize the screen. When i click on the minimize icon it won't go to the taskbar. It won't do anything. Can you please help me with this.

F11 is the shortcut for full-screen mode for any window, wherein you will only see the content, no menu.
As far as minimizing is concerned, try: alt+space n

Afaik there are two applets which display minimized apps.
Right click on empty space of panel -> add to panel
Search the list for
Window List (buttons) or Window Selector (menu)
add whatever you prefer.

Shortcut to minimize: Alt+F9
Take a look at: system preferences -> shortcuts -> window management

Are you possibly using Natty with Unity incl. Global Menu?
