firefox keeps closing

I put ubuntu on my grandmas computer and fire fox would always close i've tried 8.04, 9.01 9.04 10.04 and i've tried reinstalling fire fox on it always randomly closes? what do i do?

open a terminal and type:

firefox

Then press enter (always shoot for the obvious in Linux)
